By the end of May, this sector was reconstructed with the northern region of Kushtia, Jessore and Khulna districts, Satkhira subdivision and Faridpur. Sector Commander was Major Abu Osman Chowdhury and later Major MA Manzur. This sector headquarters was in Kalyani. Of the soldiers in the army, 3000 were regular forces and 25,000 guerrilla soldiers. Regular forces established their rights in some areas and guerilla forces established some bases inside Bangladesh. The troops of this sector adopted a unique technique in the war. Regular forces penetrated inside 7-8 miles of Bangladesh and established a situation in which the Pak army was motivated to attack them. In this arrangement, a large number of Pak army soldiers were attacked by the freedom fighters. Seven Sectors of this Sector (including the names of commanders) are: Boyra (Captain Khandakar Nazmul Huda); Hakimpur (Captain Shafiq Ullah); Bhomra (Captain Salahuddin and later Captain Shahabuddin); Lalbazar (Captain AR Azam Chowdhury); Banpur (Captain Mustafizur Rahman); Benapole (Captain Abdul Halim and later Captain Taufiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury); Shikarpur (Captain Taufiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury and later Lieutenant Jahangir)
